With the year coming to a close, I have been spending a lot of time thinking about how good God really is to me. I have the best job in the world, a wonderful family, good health, a great home, and a God who loves me despite me! It doesn't get any better than this!
School resumes on Thursday, January 3rd with a special chapel service for our high school students providsed by Joey Baines, youth pastor from Dunn.
Berean Baptist Church will host the monthly Carolina Baptist Bible Fellowship that day with meetings starting at 2:00 p.m.
Our beautiful gym had its floor redone over the break, and it looks spectacular as we get ready for the 2nd half of our basketball season.
Homecoming 2008 will be a special event on Friday, January 11th as BBA hosts Mt. Calvary Baptist Christian School. Games begin at 4:30, and the night concludes with the crowning of this year's Homecoming King and Queen!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT
December 10, 2007
I believe that I heard from Heaven on Friday night, December 7th! The Junior High and Senior High choirs from BBA performed along with the Advanced Band under the leadership of Miss Julie Love. For just about 1 hour, those in attendance were treated to wonderful music and song as our students told the story of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Great job- EVERYONE!

Protect Yourself!
Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone # into the search bar and hit enter, and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit Mapquest, you will get a map to the person's house! This is a potentially dangerous way for predators to find your home and your children! You can test to see if your phone number is mapped by going to google and typing in your full telephone number. You may block google from giving any information out by clicking on your number and then clicking the Removal Form. Removal takes about 48 hours. Better safe than sorry. DA

Sad State of NC High School Dropouts
11/9/07
I recently read a report produced by the Milton & Rose D. Friedman Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to giving parents an educational choice for their children. The study details that 1/3 of NC high school students dropped out of school in 2005. This disheartening number of young people leaving school before graduation figures to cost NC over $150 million per year: 1) lost revenue from taxes and fees 2) increased Medicaid costs and 3) increased incarceration costs. These numbers only continue to illustrate the philosophy that "no man is an island unto himself." As a society, as a community, we must all do our part in being responsible citizens who contribute to our "neighbor's" wellfare; for, in doing so, we fulfill one of our God-given roles of supporting "one another." Live for others, and you will really live.

Pensacola here we come!
11/9/07
7 of our seniors are making plans to attend "Senior College Getaway" at Pensacola Christian College in Florida. They will fly out of here on 11/14 and return on 11/16 to experience Christian college life for a couple of days. Ashley, my daughter, is thrilled with the prospect of seeing some of her friends from BBA. This trip is sponsored and funded by ABeka Books, Inc in appreciation for the years of curriculum the Academy has purchased. Thanks, ABeka Books, for the opportunity you have given our students!

Basketball Tryouts
Basketball tryouts for our young men at the Academy ended yesterday. 2 “grueling” days of running, drills, running, passing, running, and did I mention RUNNING- have narrowed down our Junior Varsity and Varsity teams to select groups. The young men, and their coaches, are excited as to what the season will hold. Our first game of the season will be here before we realize- November 13th!
